It's Orgasmic!

The levee has broke. The cork has popped. The icing is on the cake. The bubble has burst. The summit was reached. Elvis has left the building. The fat lady has sung. The farm has been bought (oops, sorry, wrong analogy) ...

It's like that long lingering sneeze has finally come to fruition with an ooohhhh, soooo satisfying "achoo", complete with tears of relief, regardless of the handful of snot.

Yes, people, I'm talking about ...

humidity.

It's been a very long, hot and sweaty summer. The temperatures this year have broke many a thermometer in some areas, not to mention that barometers were "red-lining" all over the place. And I won't get into those body parts that I never knew could perspire.

Fall has reached with its cooler weather and beautiful foilage (which we don't get here, but I do miss it).  Oh, the joy of having your hair dry on the same day you take a shower.  Yes, it's orgasmic.

Oooooh! Aaahh!
*click* ... *puff*

  1. That's great news.

I will complain about how dry it has been here in Texas, though.

    Sigh.

I'm glad the farm wasn't really bought.

  2. You just had to go for the cigarette, didn't you? I was holding my laughter to a quiet giggle until you went there.

So glad the humidity has finally broken. I feel your pain (and your pleasure).

  3. Reffie: I would have taken dry heat any day!

    ;-)

I guess you're liking the less muggy weather too.

P.S. Love your new avatar/pic (I wasn't sure that was you, at first)!

  5. I absolutely HATE to sweat! I never understood people who enjoy intense heat... I think they must be crazier than I am. So I totally feel your excitement! Enjoy it to its fullest!

  6. Well, um, I guess we know it was good for you.

  7. Boom Boom: I hate to sweat too unless, of course, it's from...um, ...well, you know.

Dry or humid, I'm not one for too much heat either.

  9. Double O- I am so glad you are finally cooling. It rained here yesterday. Damn! That was wonderful after having 80 degree weather for the last week! I love cool weather and hate heat and humidity! Give me 65 and partly cloudy every day!

  10. Linda: Yes, it's definately tolerable now - I actually might get some chores done this week! It's still warm here, but drier and breezier and I can finally get a solid night's sleep.

  11. I know I should be happy for you, but it was 9 freaking degrees today. 9. Not even double digits. Oh, and I couldn't see the leaves 'cause I had to keep my head down so the wind didn't blow my bottom lip over my head. Sigh. Sorry. Glad your cooler now.

  13. Nicky: To be honest, I envy you in a way. I miss the cold weather (yes, I'm weird) and snow (even weirder), but if you look at it this way, 9 degrees in Farenheit is actually double digits! (Okay, you have permission to slap me.)

But I can say I don't miss the wind-chill. Keep warm, dear! (Oh, and just a trick I used to use to feel warm: check out Churchill, Manisnowba's temp - it's currently -1.)

  14. Humidity? What's that? I envy Nicky... Today it was 7 degrees and I thought to myself "wow, it hasn't been this warm in two weeks."

  15. Ziva: Imagine living, working, sleeping, etc. in your sauna from June to October. That's humidity.
    ;-)

Maybe you should move to Montreal for the winter?? It's a regular heat wave up there.

  16. sounds good to me. i would swap hot weather for cold any day. hate the cold!

  17. Tina: Hi, and thanks for dropping in! Heh, heh - you do realize I like the cold? No worries, I don't mind the heat sometimes, I just don't like the humidity that comes with it during the summers here. Ugh!

  18. I wish it was uncomfortably humid right now. I biked to work yesterday morning and it was like 2 degrees above freezing. Not unbearable, and kinda nice in the brilliant sunshine, but heat and humidity are just memories for us now ;)

  19. CheesyMike: Man, are you brave!! I hope you don't have to travel too far to work and hope you don't do this when it snows! If it's any consolation, I did 'winter' in Canada one year.
    ;-)

    Stay warm!

  20. I can never complain about the hot weather beause the winters in Northeast Ohio just suck and they last so long.

    Oh "That's what she said!"

No, it's bad karma to complain about the heat here.

  21. Sue: I can appreciate cold winters, especially harsh ones - spent most of my life slightly north of you. The summer heat is almost unbearable here, but the 'winter' heat is quite tolerable.

(Hey, I got a joke for you:

Q: What's round on both end and high in the middle??
    A: O - HI - O.

    Yeah, that was bad.)

  22. It's finally breathable here, but the leaves haven't turned their usual pretty fall colors. They're just mostly brown. I love these crisp cool days. Think I'll have a smoke now too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Leeuna: I miss the fall colours and crisp air too. Leaves and such fall all year around here and at this time of year, one must be wary of the coconut trees. *fwump*

  24. We have snow.....

humidity sounds really good right about now!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Brahm: Actually, when it snows it's more humid which, in turn, makes the temp feel colder (kind of like the reverse in the summer, the humidex makes it feel hotter!). But then again, a 'dry' cold makes your snot freeze faster! Heh, heh.
    (Yeah, I miss my winters.)

  26. I couldn't live where you live, not even on a good day. So I'm very, very happy for you, Double-O. Very happy indeed.

  27. BonyMike: You're just jealous.

  28. Just when you're cooling off, we're freezing up.
What a wonderful post this was, I totally wasn't expecting the "humidity" to be the centre of the attention. Magnificient!

  29. Sandra: Thanks! It's almost like the real thing ... almost.

  30. Turn on a flоureԁ surface and knead for 10 mіnutes, aԁding more flouг as neеded.
I can't exactly remember why--maybe it was peer pressure from our health-driven community, who knows. Most bread machines come with a recipe book included.
