Punny Stuff

Not to pat myself on the back or anything, but this week ...

... an honour bestowed upon the winner of a weekly caption contest hosted by nonamedufus, given  for my entry for last week's Pause, Ponder and Pun pic.   A new photo appears every Wednesday - that's tomorrow people!  Be there or be square.

But, hey, if captions aren't your thing, comments are always welcome and you just might be the recipient of the Golden Clothespin award:

Collect enough of these and you'll be hangin' with nonamedufus, too!

On another note, I was glancing through the classifieds the other day and came upon this:

Well, I do own a plunger.  Does that count?

  1. First -- great caption. I loved that series when I was a kid.

Second -- while I'm somewhat dismayed that an ad for a plumbing position would feel the need to stress that applicants "must know plumbing," I'm ever more disturbed by whoever it is that's passing themselves off as Avon while having nothing more than a hotmail account for their e-mail.

  2. Frank: How the hell are ya!! You've been missed! Thanks, and I surprised myself by remembering that series. I was still very young when they cancelled it. I just remember the cops were always and forever getting themselves into trouble in one way or another.

I never did pay much attention to the Avon ad, but you have a point. Maybe it's just an ad for phishing e-mail accounts? Door-to-door sales wouldn't work here anyway (you'd have to visit to understand).

  4. Reffie: Thanks! You should come around and give it a shot sometime.

I also have a pipe wrench. (Just trying to pad my resume.)

  5. This is so funny! Congratulations on your caption. I am so not calling that plumber, except perhaps as a prank.

  6. brenda w: Thanks. In hindsight, I should've called the number (before I blanked it out) to see what kind of a company it was.

  8. meleah: Thanks, and at the risk of dating myself even further, I had to look up, "sofa king". Never heard of it. Really! But it's a good thing, right?

  10. Are you sure they aren;t looking for a urologist?

  11. I could use both a plumber and a urologist. You can never have too many.

Congrats on hangin' with Dufus.... you need a lot of clothes pins to hang with that guy!

  12. dufus: Plumber, urologist. Same difference.

  13. Boom Boom: What, you need more than you already have?

Thanks! I hope to earn a few more clothes puns, I mean pins.

  14. I know what plumber's butt looks like...does that count? 'Cause I could use a few bucks for summer vacay...

  15. Sandra: I would think the 'butt-crack' view is a prerequisite for plumbing positions, and you probably have one that would not be offensive to look at.
